Returning to Natural Eyebrows

natural eyebrows

Eyebrows form a prominent feature of the face, both shaping the face and providing definition. Their form accentuates the eyes, which is the reason why women exert so much effort trying to keep their eyebrows in perfect shape all the time.

Girls and young women pluck their eyebrows to give their face a more sophisticated look – but fuller eyebrows can make a person look more youthful. Therefore, this becomes a quandary as we get older.

Eventually, over-plucked eyebrows can lose their perfect shape, and they can become thinner than usual. Having fewer hairs in the eyebrows makes it difficult to shape them while retaining a natural look.

That is why both men and women seek hair restoration to restore their eyebrows to a fuller, more youthful appearance. Let’s talk about how all of this works.

Causes of Eyebrow Hair Loss

The most common reason for eyebrow hair loss is over-plucking. The problem with tweezing is that once you pluck your eyebrow hair and pull the hair follicle out, it gets damaged. The hair in that exact spot will eventually stop growing after repeated over-plucking.

Another reason is alopecia areata. It is an autoimmune disease whose effects include random hair loss, eyebrow loss, or total disappearance of the hair. This can be brought on by stress.

In some cases, eyebrow hair loss is triggered by nutrient deficiencies. This includes not getting enough vitamins C, E, B-12, and D, as well as biotin, iron, and cysteine.

Thyroid disease is also a common cause of eyebrow hair loss. This happens when the thyroid gland creates too much or too little of a hormone, thereby disrupting the natural body processes – including hair growth.

Treatments for Eyebrow Hair Loss

You can now have natural eyebrows back again with the help of a hair-restoration specialist. Dr. Robert Niedbalski at Northwest Hair Restoration performs advanced hair-restoration treatments, including eyebrow transplant and all other types of hair transplants.

Dr. Niedbalski will first analyze your existing hair, and then he can move some of your existing hair follicles from an area where there is plenty of hair (so you won’t miss it there) and transplant it to your eyebrow line. He is careful to align the follicle so it grows in the proper direction and in the exact place where you want your eyebrow to be fuller again.
