How Does Juvéderm® Work?

Juvéderm® is a popular treatment that helps to restore volume and smoothness to your skin. It's made from hyaluronic acid, a substance that our bodies naturally produce to keep our skin plump and hydrated. As we age, our natural production of hyaluronic acid decreases, which can lead to wrinkles and sagging skin. Juvéderm® works by replenishing your skin's hyaluronic acid levels, filling in those troublesome areas that have thinned or sunken over time. The result is a smoother and more youthful appearance. Our patients love that Juvéderm® treatments are quick, with minimal discomfort, and you can see the results almost immediately.

Juvéderm ® FAQs

Your Juvéderm® treatment will begin with a private consultation. At this time, Nurse Practitioner Allie Morehart or Dr. Niedbalski will sit down with you, evaluate your skin, and listen to your concerns. Once we determine Juvéderm® is right for you and your desired look, we can start your treatment.

Before your Juvéderm® treatment begins, we will cleanse the area of your skin being treated and apply a topical anesthetic. This is to ensure you remain as comfortable as possible throughout your treatment. Once numb, Nurse Practitioner Allie Morehart or Dr. Niedbalski will carefully inject the Juvéderm® treatment that best suits your needs into your desired treatment area. The entire injection process typically takes about 10 minutes to complete.

Juvéderm® is a minimally invasive, non-surgical treatment. Because of this, there is no formal downtime or recovery period associated with each treatment. Instead, most patients are able to return to their normal daily activities, including school and work, immediately following their treatment sessions with us. Swelling, bruising, and tenderness in the treated areas is normal and generally subsides within a few days of treatment. Patients can enjoy the full results of their treatment once swelling resolves, within a three to seven days of treatment.
