I am writing to comment on Dr. Robert Niedbalski of Northwest Hair Restoration in Tacoma, Washington. I have had several surgical procedures completed by Dr. Niedbalski in my quest to restore my head of hair, and I have never ceased to be amazed and impressed by his degree of surgical expertise and patient care.

As with all hair restoration patients, I have a limited supply of donor hair on the sides and back of my head to be transplanted to the top and frontal hair line. With his extensive line of impressive credentials and vast experience in hair restoration from which to draw, Dr. Niedbalski does an excellent job of placing the grafts to provide the appearance of greatest density and fullness in the hair line. This is just one of many examples of the finesse and expertise that Dr. Niedbalski and his highly skilled surgical staff have displayed over the course of my procedures.

Hair restoration is a surgical procedure, and, as with any surgery, the surgeon’s credentials, skill set and reputation are of paramount importance. One would be hard pressed to find a hair restoration staff so highly trained as Dr. Robert Niedbalski and his surgical team. Such skills are crucial when it comes to graft extraction, graft handling, and graft placement to insure the most successful outcome of a procedure. Knowing precisely how to place each graft in the recipient area at the proper angle and spacing to promote natural growth and a full appearance is a skill that Dr. Niedbalski has cultivated over many years of practice and training at the highest level in the hair restoration discipline.

There are many physicians and plastic surgeons now offering hair restoration with use of automated machines with the promise of excellent results and no residual scar left on the back of the head as there may be with traditional strip harvesting. I am concerned because many of these physicians using these expensive automated devices have little or no training in the complex and intricate field of hair transplantation. I am wary of these physicians to say the least. Further, as stated, I have had several strip surgeries performed by Dr. Niedbalski and, hence, a few “scars.” However, due to Dr. Niedbalski’s stellar surgical skill these obscure scars have healed extraordinarily well and are virtually undetectable. To see the scars one would have to part the hair on the scalp with fingers and closely inspect the underlying skin. Even then, one would have to be specifically searching for evidence of a suture line. Besides, hair grows over the thin suture line anyway, and such line is never seen or suspected. Therefore, I find little merit in sales pitches for automated hair transplantation that promise no scars.

Follicular unit transplantation with strip harvesting remains the gold standard in hair transplantation as performed by the surgical team at Northwest Hair Restoration. And Dr. Robert Niedbalski is likely one of the finest hair restoration surgeons in the country. His credentials, training, experience, and commitment to excellence is evident by his work and reputation in the field.

I would like to thank Dr. Niedbalski and his entire staff for the very professional and superb hair restoration services. This is my 2nd procedure, first was completed in 2006. As with the first procedure Dr. Niedbalski provided very comprehensive pre op assessment and advice. The 1stprocedure was excellent and his staff superb in making me feel comfortable during the process and assured of positive results. I followed the doctor’s directions to the “T” and post op recovery was smooth and the results were excellent.

I couldn’t imagine a second procedure could go smoother than the 1st, however to my great surprise the 2nd procedure which I just completed in October 2011, hands down surpassed the 1st experience. The Dr. met with me pre-op and provided an extremely thorough evaluation and discussion on the newest procedures and advances in hair restoration. The Doctor gave me a very thorough explanation of a new processutilizing ACell Matristem and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Dr. Niedbalski proposed a hair restoral plan and approach and within weeks after the procedure was completed.

My experience the 2nd time around was absolutely phenomenal. Dr. Niedbalski and his staff were as always extremely professional and provided the best medical services I’ve ever received from a doctor’s or for that fact a hospital’s staff. I elected to have the ACELL and PRP process along with the hair restoration. My assessment is made in comparison to my 1’st procedure, and the one immediate observation is that healing time is half what the 1st procedure took. That alone is worth having the ACELL/PRP process done at the same time. Another striking change as a result of ACELL/PRP is in the donor strip site healing and final look. At the 5th day post op my donor site was well into the healing process and the lack of a scar like material was very evident.

In fact Dr. Niedbalski uses a process that enables hair to grow from the donor site making if very hard to detect and would easily facilitate the wearing of short hair without worry of the donor site being detected. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Niedbalski and his entire staff. From first contact with his administrative assistants to experience with he and his surgical team, the experience was hands down the best I’ve ever had for any medical procedure and I’ve had a few major procedures in my 58 years. I look forward to my third and final procedure, I wish I had not waited 5 years for the 2nd procedure, but will not repeat that mistake for the third procedure.

There are a lot of Doctor’s providing hair restoration services, finding a good one is a must, finding one that is very reasonably priced and excellent is even harder. Dr. Niedbalski meets those requirements hands down. There is no question Dr. Niedbalski and his staff will be the ones providing those services for me.

I looked into a few of the national hair restoration clinics. Although the surgeons appeared to be qualified, the fees associated with these large clinics were steep and beyond reach. This was due, in part, to the large marketing overhead these clinics incurred. I was looking for an extremely qualified hair transplant surgeon who could meet both my expectations and my budget. My hairline has been nearly completely restored. The quality of the surgical procedures I received has been exemplary. I can now style my hair anyway I choose, and the transplanted area is virtually undetectable from my native hair. I recently had a surgical hair restoration procedure performed by Dr. Robert Niedbalski, an extremely qualified hair transplant surgeon and medical director of Northwest Hair Restoration in Tacoma, WA. The results of previous surgical procedures I have had performed by Dr. Niedbalski have been spectacular with my head of hair being nearly completely restored and transformed from the substantially receding hairline that I started with. I expect the results of my recent procedure to be no less exemplary. The density and texture of the surgically transplanted hair on top matches the donor hair on the sides and back of my head, with evidence of the transplanted hair in the formerly bald areas being virtually undetectable.

As in the past, Dr. Niedbalski’s surgical skill and precision during the procedure were stellar. I had been planning to have a hair transplant procedure done for about 5 years before I actually did it. There were a few things that held me back, the primary one being the cost. I knew that I would be in a position to afford the procedure at some time, and at that time my hair was still acceptable so I had the luxury of time on my side. My wife is 12 years younger than I am, and very attractive. I knew that she would be proud of me whether I was balding or not. Still, I was very proud to be seen with her, and I wanted her to remain feeling the same way about me.

I certainly was not obsessed with the loss of my hair, and had no real less feelings of confidence in myself because of it, but I did start to notice that I was wearing my Cowboy hat much more. I find it curious that I enjoy the results that I have achieved up to this point, six months after the procedure was done, as much as I do. I had a tremendous amount of confidence in myself and my abilities prior to the procedure, so I don't claim a significant change in that respect. It is just that now when I happen to see myself in a mirror I get a little bit of a smile on my face and a bit of a warm feeling inside knowing that I do look younger, and better than I have in many years. My wife, who is also my barber says that it is now nice to have something up there to cut. I like knowing that she is pleased that I had the procedure done.

Dr. Niedbalski and his staff are very nice and competent people to work with. It was easy to see that they were doing something that they were very proficient at. I felt comfortable with them, and pretty much left them alone to do their work for the most part, without bothering them constantly with questions as the procedure proceeded. When my constant curiosity about pretty much everything would overwhelm me and I had a question or comment to make, I didn't feel uncomfortable in asking the question or making the comment. They even actually appeared to appreciate my sense of humor, which is awesome by the way, and we got along just great.

Concerning my progress at the six month point; Whether I am the exception to the rule, or right where everyone else is at this point, I do not know. Nor does it really matter to me, because it simply would not change anything at all anyway. Never the less, I am quite pleased with the results so far, and if what I have read about these procedures is correct, and I hope that they are, that you are at a 50% progress point at six months, I have even much more to look forward to for the next six months, and that would be fantastic. Because I am quite pleased even at this point, anything additional that happens with the old growth timber, and the newly transplanted saplings up there on my scalp, should make that warm feeling inside that I mentioned that I get when I now see my reflection, feel even warmer.

I have never put in writing a letter of endorsement for any services I have received, but the outstanding service I have recently received at the Northwest Hair Restoration clinic by Dr. Niedbalski and his entire staff impels me to do so.

I have been interested for quite a while in the possibility of addressing my own male pattern baldness. I researched extensively in the Seattle area for a clinic that deals with this condition. At the outset, I had financial limitations in what I could invest in this procedure. I first went to the most advertised clinic in Seattle for information on hair transplantation. Let me tell you that Dr. Niebalski and his incredible staff made the day as painless and as comfortable as possible.

His staff worked like a well-oiled machine. Their professionalism, courtesy to my needs, and explanation of what they were doing made for a most interesting and satisfying day. I would strongly advise anyone looking for a reasonably priced hair transplant, given by a proven doctor and well-trained support crew, to consider Northwest Hair Restoration. I did my homework on this issue, and it paid off more than I can tell you. I thank Dr. Niedbalski and his entire well-trained staff.
